Confidence in Compliance Schedule

Safeguarding the Medicines Supply Chain: Fake Medicines, Artificial Intelligence and the Pharmacist’s Role

Speaker: Professor Amira Guirguis, Royal College Of Pharmacy

Focus Areas:
Protecting the integrity of medicines requires vigilance across the entire supply chain, from manufacture and distribution through to supply to patients. This presentation will consider emerging risks associated with falsified and illicit medicines, including examples involving GLP-1 medicines and benzodiazepines, and examine the supply-and-demand factors that can create opportunities for counterfeit markets. It will then explore how artificial intelligence, analytical technologies and digital monitoring could complement existing approaches to medicines authentication, surveillance and risk detection. Finally, the session will consider the implications for pharmacists, focusing on governance and the importance of retaining professional judgement as AI becomes increasingly embedded within pharmacy and pharmaceutical systems.

Beyond the Sensor:
Preventing the Pharma Write-Off Before It Happens

Speaker: Stuart Tatters, SENSOS

Focus Areas:
A written-off pharma batch is never just the cost of the product, it’s the reorder, the deviation paperwork, and the number that ends up in front of the board. A temperature excursion caught too late isn’t a monitoring failure. It’s a write-off. Stuart Tatters will unpack that shift – from sensors that flag a loss to systems that prevent one, bringing the Sensos view alongside a strong line-up across quality, security, and cold chain.

Practical AI for Quality & Compliance: Start Small, Stay in Control

Speaker: Carolina Luna, AIT Worldwide Logistics

Focus Areas:
Carolina will be looking at how AI has been implemented and plays a part within quality and compliance at AIT Worldwide Logistics and provides tips and tricks on how to get started and risks to be considered.

Building the Wholesaler of Tomorrow

Speaker: Mikael Ginai, Ginai Pharma

Focus Areas:
In this session, Mikael shares how he designed and built G Pharma to systemise a GDP wholesale operation end to end — connecting quoting, inventory, dispatch, traceability and validation within a single workflow. The central theme is that automation and compliance are not competing priorities. Designed well, an automated system embeds regulatory requirements directly into day-to-day operations. A practical look at where pharmaceutical distribution is heading, and what it takes to get there.

The Automation Paradox: Pitfalls and Defences

Speaker: Titus Rawlins, Human Factors Trainer

Focus Areas:
Titus breaks down essential human factors like communication, leadership, and empathy to foster safer, high-performing workplaces and explores how these critical behaviours impact quality, safety and team performance. With worked examples on how AI can support but also hinder.

Minimizing Cargo Losses and Optimising the Resilience of Supply Chains

Speaker:
Harry Hughes, TAPA

Focus Areas:
Harry will explore the cargo crime risks facing pharmaceutical supply chains and the practical steps businesses can take to reduce losses. Drawing on his experience in pharmaceutical transport and as UK Ambassador for TAPA EMEA, Harry will cover how security standards, intelligence and industry collaboration can help protect sensitive shipments and strengthen supply chain resilience.

Stuart Tatters biography

With over 20 years in logistics, freight forwarding, and time-critical supply chains, Stuart Tatters has learned firsthand how crucial it is to know where your assets are, and where they’re going, at any given moment. In fast-moving, high-stakes environments, visibility isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

That experience shapes everything he does at Sensos, where he helps organisations turn complex supply chains into responsive, efficient ecosystems through end-to-end visibility, AI-powered analytics, and smarter execution. His approach comes down to aligning people, technology, and systems; because when those three work together, you get more than a functional supply chain, you get a competitive advantage.
